sIngle glove

Single GLove is an art project based on a collection of lost, single gloves and and mittens. The collection started in 2021 and currently consist of 550 gloves/mittens.

Viola Othilie Tømte, the initiator of the project, is currently collaborating with scenographer, exhibition designer and visual artist Katarina Caspersen on realising a performative exhibition based on the collection of gloves/mittens.

In May 2024 we arranged a Single GLove summer party, in September 2024 we arranged a Single GLove workshop, and in December 2024 we are arranging a Single GLove Christmas workshop.

With the Single GLove project, in its current and future formats, we want to initiate dialouge around and reflection upon themes such as loneliness, outsiderness, togetherness, belonging, throw-away mentality, reuse and diversity.

The performative exhibition will take place at Trykkokeren kunstlaboratorium (Ulven - Oslo) and the planned exhibition period is in the autumn/winter of 2025.
